touch pad mouse key

hello, recently i have experienced some problem with the touch pad mouse.
when i click the right mouse key, it does not function as a right mouse click, but act as if i hold ONTO the left mouse key. and then if i press the real left mouse key, it acts as a right click, keeps on poping up the right click menu.
i thought it's my system problem so i formatted it, but same problem occured. it has never occured before for almost two years, just happend recently about a week ago.

please note that this problem only occurs periodically without notice, sometimes everything works perfectly. is it some key i misclicked? or driver missing? ( i installed with my own xp cd )
my friend told me that to install untranav driver but it didnt help.

everything works perfectly if i use external mouse.

any help would be appreciated

Try reseating the keyboard cable.
