Will Lenovo cover the difference after a sale?

#1 Post by revolutionary_one » Sat May 31, 2008 12:40 pm

So I bought a T61

T7500 w/ integrated graphics and it looks like I overpaid :(

A week after I bought mine they ended up posting a sale
with the Coupon that brought the price down about 50 bucks.

Can I call customer service and have them refund the difference?

If so, after how many days is this courtesy available?

Thanks

You can ask....

I've had some (reputable) businesses credit me for a sale that happened within the return period. That is, credit me for the sale after my purchase, rather than have me return the purchase and buy again at a discount.

I've had as many businesses laugh off the suggestion.

In your case, $50 might be what it costs you to return your laptop, so I'd cross my fingers and call, as the "threat" of returning it is empty.

Configure the exact system you ordered, except with the sale in place. In the payment page, instead of choosing to purchase the system, choose to save the configuration as a quote. Save your customer number and quote number, and contact Lenovo customer service. They should give you the difference if you have a valid quote in place (just make sure it's absolutely the exact same system).

Worked for me with my ThinkCentre a year ago. I think Notebook Review has a special thread on this Lenovo price protection plan; also do a search for "price protection plan" in this forum. It's been discussed. Good luck! :)

how would this work when the 9 cell batteries are no longer configurable... and my system shipped with one?

It is best to screenshot the price or print the order to PDF and send it to them as an email attachment.
