T61p Audio Playback Problem

Just got my T61p and everything is great except for a slight audio glitch. When I'm playing music through foobar2000, every once in a while I'll get a slight clip. It's just random and infrequent enough to be very annoying, and I'm wondering what's going on. I downgraded to XP, but I've got SP3 installed, so the HD drivers should work, right?

I assume it's not a decoding issue because the machine is a beast. My foobar config is replay gain and clip prevention, primary sound driver, 2000ms buffer, and i've tried 16 and 24 bit-depths. Also, foobar version is 9.5.3.

Any idea what it could be?

p.s. Would the T61 not be perfect if all the tech could be fit into the T42 body + IPS screen (thought I have to admit, I'm loving the WUXGA+)? I really miss that machine.

I think I fixed it. Kernel Streaming FTW!

switch to foobar and turn on kernel streaming. other than that, I have no clue, but it's a stupid problem for a machine this expensive to have. and the issue with kernel streaming is that you can't have anything else output audio except for foobar. Any websites or movies or whatever that you might have played at the same time won't work.
