Problem with docking and T61 [XP]

I have a T61 7664-16U for almost a year now and a few months ago I bought the Advanced Docking Station for it because my desktop computer was broken at that time.

With Windows Vista on it it was a pain to use it.. sometimes but now with Windows XP on my T61 is a nightmare.

Example:

I have my T61 in standby (S3), I dock it, I turn it on and I get all kind of stupid things: 640x480 on laptopscreen, non-rotated 1600x1200 on 20" external etc.

On the DVI port of the dock I have a Samsung 204T 20" 1600x1200 monitor rotated 90 degrees. If I dock my laptop while it's in sleep it's always bingo and I have to adjust everything myself. When I dock it when it's powered on, it still doesn't enable the external 20" screen. Each time I have to go to the settings and enable the 2nd monitor. And when I'm finally done and have the laptop display @ 1440x900 (primary screen) and the 20" at 1600x1200, rotated 90 degrees and positioned to the rightside with the bottoms of the screens on the same height I end up with have a 90 degrees rotated cursor on the 2nd screen

As far as I know this is not a normal behaviour for this combo. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or better: how to fix the problem?

Yes, the Windows XP Pro has Servicepack 2 and all the updates. It's a legal bought license, so :)

2nd problem: when pressing Fn+F5 it's not listing the wifi radio. Do I really have to uninstall and reinstall almost all drivers in a different order like suggested elsewhere?

Have you tried the Presentation Director?
(disclaimer: I don't have a T61 or an Advanced Docking Station, nor do I rotate my external display, but it works pretty well for a T60p w/Advanced Mini Dock and external WUXGA display and an A31p w/Dock II and external WUXGA display)

Well, I installed Presentation Director and it somehow works ... crap.

It positions my external monitor with the top on the same height of the laptop LCD screen top. While it must allign it with the bottoms on the same height.

I created a profile to do 1440x900 on the laptop LCD (primary) and 1600x1200 on the DVI external display. If I apply that profile it works, but I get this error message:

As soon as I click 'ok' or kill that window it reverses it's actions and I get stuck with a black external screen.

I've seen a similar error window pop up once in a while on my system(s). Usually selecting the same presentation scheme again works the second time. Sorry, can't be of more help.

I tried it ten times.. no joy

Thx anyway.

I guess I'm gonna do a re-install of Windows XP. It's messed up anyway.

But first I'm gonna get an English Windows XP Pro. I have an English Office and it sucks that you can't find anything on Dutch error messages in google.

Anyone else experience similar Docking, DVI issues.

Is that a statement or a question :?:

It appers to me that normally the laptop will laptop the external screen when it gets docked and disable it when it get undocked.

The only way to not get it all messed up is hot-docking it and hot-undocking. When I cold-dock it and after that undock it I end up with a rotated 1024x768 on the laptop LCD... doesn't make any sense at all.
