Can have both PC card and Express card slots, it depends on how you configured your thinkpad.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

from the look of the buttons for the slots in the pic you posted I'd say you have both, so yes the firewire card will work. It looks like the one I got for my t60 a while back kind of a cheap one but it works for transmitting data to my HD enclosure.

Never, ever go with PCMCIA cards for the T6x series if you can find a ExpressCard solution. The performance of the PCMCIA is severely crippled, for some odd reason :(

EDIT: See http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... pcmcia+t61

I see NathanA tried out the T60 too, but could get much better rates than me, since, so i think my old usb card might just be very slow by itself, and only be USB2.0 compatible, but not hi-speed.
So it is only a problem with the T61 it seems.

Yes and yes.

Yes, so if you are not concerned about superfast data transfer rates then go with the pcmcia card, like I said it does work, I used mine and I don't remember getting wrapped around the axle or freaking out about the speed. Maybe I just take things slow :) You could just use your USB port.
