Blue screens, before and after re-format. RAM intergrity?
Had this happen on my T40 and npw my T60. Beginning to wonder if it's the RAM (again). I am using Lenovo + Elecom RAM. I may just order Crucial RAM when I go back to the UK for 2 weeks. (Currently living in Japan).
Frequent crashes. The same dump everytime: 0x000007f, 0x000000d (give or take some zeros, and then more 0x0's follow). XP Pro SP3 then reports back with the same error report incouding the file sysdata.xml I'm guessing this is RAM, but for some reason I think it could have something to with the ATI driver.
Any suggestions?
Sorry to be so vauge....

Hmm...I've been having the same problems as well, but I just figured they would fix themselves for some reason. I have a gig of stock ram and then another gig of Crucial I believe. I'm going to run the tests posted above and see if it's the issue. T61P btw...sorry about the choppiness, my mind isn't functioning properly.

A fast search on the error codes turns up at least one other victim who confirmed it was ATI video drivers:

But system diagnostics are always a good place to start.

Ran Memtest and nothing was found.
So I used the Rollback driver and lo and behold, it's working ok. IE7 crashes occasionally, but things are much better than they were.
Do ATI know about this?

I was contemplating getting some more RAM from Crucial soon. Should I not buy from them? Why has thier quality lapsed?Edward Mendelson wrote:The RAM that went bad in my T42 recently was Crucial; also the RAM that went bad in a desktop machine. Crucial isn't as reliable as it used to be.
