Quick question -
I know that the motherboards for the 14 and 15 inch T4x series are the same. I'm fairly new the the T6x series and wonder if the same is true for them?

Without knowing the answer, I would say "yes", because if you look at System service parts - ThinkPad T60, T60p (many different models) you will see an interposer card (41W1130) just like what is used in 15" T4x's! Checking the Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad T60/p (many different models) confirm this "belief". Maybe some of the video's available at Lenovo Training Video's shed more light on this?

However, only an amateurs guess...

as johan stated above, the 15" T6x series do have interposer cards to adapt the narrower 14" system planar to the wider 15" chassis.   however, there have been a few revisions in both planars and chassis so the various planars won't automatically fit in all of the chassis and vice versa.

Thanks for replying, guys. This gives me something to go on until I get more actual experience with the T6x line.
