How do I use the Integrated Camera?

I realize I must be missing something, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to take a simple picture with my integrated camera on my new T61.

I am running Vista Home Premium.

My wife has a MacBook and she is able to click on Photo Booth and then click a button to take a photo quickly. While I am not expecting it to be that easy necessarily, I assume there must be some simple way to take a photo. Can you point me in the right direction, please?

Also, I have never had a camera or done any video chatting, etc. I am having a hard time finding any good information on the Lenovo site (though it is probably there). Does anyone know of a good tutorial or guide for using these cameras in general? When I click on the system tray icon, it only offers me the option of enabling Skype. There are other options, right?

In Vista there is no Software to take pictures:

Windows Vista has no operating system-based applications or utilities to display images captured by the Integrated Camera - 3000 N100, V100 / ThinkPad R61, T61, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t.

Install a third party software like Windows Live Messenger or buy any shareware software capable of taking pictures.

Now, if I may trouble you one more time.

I would appreciate a short list of programs I might try. I am not a big fan of messenger, but I tried it and have not been able to simply take a still shot yet. Regardless, if anyone has any suggestions for simple, straight forward software to use, free or for sale, please let me know.

While I keep reading about MSN and Yahoo, etc., they seem to focus on the video chat function (though they surely do more than I know about just now). I am even more interested in being able to take simple photos quickly, perhaps even with some fun filters, etc. (fun for my 2 year old, that is). That's the thing, she loves taking pictures on mom's mac and now she wants to do it with me on my new notebook too.

Try Yawcam. (Freeware)

Or search on Download.com to find additional software.

Thanks. I search download.com but it is always nice to get an opinion from someplace like this first. I will check that out.

This says how to take a picture with the camera, but my camera does not show up (nothing shows up).

So, I found someone else who had the same problem, apparently, and they downloaded a driver and it worked. I found the driver for my system at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-68918 but when I read through the READMe stuff, it turns out I already have that driver installed apparently.

Anyways, that's where I am. Closer but not really.

So, I found someone else who had the same problem, apparently, and they downloaded a driver and it worked. I found the driver for my system at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... Windows Vista doesn't have a capable software to take pictures, as stated previously you require a third party application.

You got me. Thanks! It's been a long day - trying to figure this stuff out when I don't know a ton and a couple of kids are running around yelling. : )
