Lenovo T61 NI29 /64669 and general 15 zoll quality
Lenovo T61 NI29 /64669 and general 15 zoll quality
1. Does anyone have informations about the diplay quality of the
Lenovo T61 NI29 bzw 64669?
It has a 15 zoll display, I can only find tests of 14 zoll displays.
2. What exactly is the difference of the R and T serie? The components seem to be the same?
3. Is there an alternative for the Lenovo T series? Are you all happy with your T series?
Thanks very much for hel

I don't know about those special models, but in general, the 15.4'' widescreen displays currently built into T61s are either Samsung or LG TN panel units.Sunset wrote:1. Does anyone have informations about the diplay quality of the

As it seems there are many complaints in the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) and WUXGA (1900x1200) area.
1280x800 resolution users seem to complain less, but that may be due to the fact that WSXGA+ and WUXGA users may be more on the power user side, paid a lot more and might be more picky about what they get for the money.
Anyway. I personally own a T61p 6457-BQG with a 1680x1050 LCD from Samsung.
Featuring TN technology, viewing angles and color reproduction are not that great. While this doesn't bother me much for the horizontal aspect, it's certainly a bit annoying in the vertical since I can clearly see color and brightness shifts when moving my head up and down.
Besides that, the display is not really bright.
I can put up with all this, but there's a lot of people out there who'd probably throw the T61 out of the window just because of the LCD.
To wrap it up:
If you plan on doing graphics work which needs accurate color reproduction, or you'd like to have a bright screen with vibrant colors and good viewing angles, you'd better walk into a store and see for yourself before you buy.

No. That's comparing apples and oranges.Samsung Panel: that means the display of the thinkpad is compareable with a Samsung P500 or similar models?

I tend to agree on that. However, reports on LG TN panels found in T61s have not been much better either.ajkula66 wrote: Samsung TN panels are garbage, plain and simple, and I'm not alone in that opinion.
Lenovo is now generally using low quality TN panels for their T61 series, regardless of the LCD manufacturer.
