System Tray Hangs

Hi all,
I bought a t61p a couple of months back and downgraded the operating system from vista to xp pro.
Everything works fine except for the following: after using the laptop for a while, the system tray just hangs. the wireless connection is gone, i cannot open volume controls etc. i need to restart the computer and before shutting down, i see messages such as
ending program ACTrayWng, ending program Power Monitor, ending program ACWLIconWnd etc.
Did anybody face similar problem and if so, what did you do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
