Reinstalling Access Connections: How to?

Having spent the 4th of July weekend in computer hell, I've emerged alive - with T60 running smoothly. The long story began with the following symptoms: humungously long boot and power down times, need to manually kill apps - seemingly related to Productivity Suite and wireless - that would not close, weirdly truncated Productivity panel (missing Find Wireless Connections) uninstall of Symantec, install of Eset SS, removal of Symantec folders from registry, etc. I was prepared to wipe and do a factory install; found that Rescue and Recovery was corrupted - uninstalled and reinstalled fresh download. Long story short: simply uninstalling Access Connections seems to have restored the machine - a 2623 - to adolescence. But I want Access Connections back.
Question: How can I effectively reinstall Access Connections? I see from the readme for the latest version that I need to update Hotkey software, drivers for the Intel 3495 network adapter, etc. before I contemplate an install. An attempt at uninstall / reinstall without these steps seems to have prolonged some problems (no Find Wireless Networks in Productivity panel) and create others. I'm sort of a newbie - I've been to the Intel site, etc., but I'm having trouble telling which are the right pieces.
Help! And Thanks in advance.
