Jumpy mouse & keyboard via adv mini dock on T60p

I recently became the owner of a T60p and two advanced mini-docks. I set up the docking station and the 1200x1600 DVI monitor worked fine. However, I am having problems the keyboard and mouse via the dock.
The general response for both the keyboard and mouse is jumpy, semi-delayed, and not precise. This happens most of the time, but not all of the time. It is almost like there is another memory-intense program running but there isn't (kind of like how my CAD system runs when the backup utility is running).
The mouse worked fine when I used the laptop off the dock and plugged it in direct to the laptop when not in laptop mode. When docked, I've tried plugging the mouse into both the dock and direct to the laptop and the jumpiness is there.
Mouse is a Logitech MX510 optical mouse. Keyboard is a basic Dell. Both are USB. I haven't loaded the Logitech software since I was there is a lot of junk on the CD and the mouse seemed to be working fine in laptop mode.
Any thoughts on fixes or troubleshooting?
