I am running into a problem with the T61p and Office 2007 using Access once I create a database and I want to use the filter command I should be able to click in a cell and then choose selection to choose equals to " " or does not equal " " once I click that the Toggle Filters button should light up and it does not. On a side note. If I click on totals and go to the bottom of a line and click count it should count immediately it doesn't until I click refresh. After that the numbers fill. I will mention that I have tried this on more then 1 (around 5 now) machines all T61p and get the same result. However on a T60p and some Lenovo Desktops I do not get the problems and Access behaves the way it should. Any ideas or a place to start. I have already uninstalled reinstalled ran all from computer updates current blah blah blah. Im about ready to go play in traffic.

EDIT--I am using Windows XP SP2 fully updated without SP3

I have a T61p with Vista Business 64-bit and Office 2007 Professional SP1 and all updates.

So I just went into Access (I am NOT (really NOT) an Access person), created a new database (name, address, city) and added several records. When I filter for a item of data, the Filtered notifier at the bottom turns gold (yellow) when filtered and says "filtered", and when I click that button, it turns white and says "unfiltered"

Is that what you mean? ... JDH

If you click in one of those cells that you created and go up top to filter and sort and choose selection it should give you an option to choose equals or not equal if I choose one there is a toggle button 2 buttons down. It greys out and will not let me toggle the filter off and on like it should.

Also I forgot to mention what OS I am using so I put it in for future reference. Sorry about not putting that in earlier. And trust me I am not an Access user either but I have been tasked with finding a solution for this and well looks like I get to DIVE HEAD FIRST!!!! :P Thanks for your help.
