T60 Not Powering with Adapter! -Out Of Warranty-

Think my T60's power is totally shot. I tried 2 different power adapters, and still not powering. These same adapters work on my other T60. So I know its a problem with my machine. When I swap batteries, it will than power up. But when trying with my adapters, it will not. No Indicators light up or anything!

Is there anything I can do with this? I am out of Warranty! Did my T60 Short Circuit? Fuse problem? Power Jack?

Basically only way I can use my laptop now is if I charge my battery on to my other T60.

Thanks! :(

Are you saying it will not start plugged in, even though there is a charged battery? If so, it sounds like a motherboard problem in the charging circuit.

If the battery is charged, than the computer will turn on.. if I just use the power adapter, it will not power on. Basically only way my thinkpad turns on is with a charged battery..I removed the battery, and just tried powering through the adapter, and it doesn't power. I tried 2 T60 Power Adapters.

It is possibly the jack or the fuse. That is what I would test first. I'm not sure what to suggest; you need to find a repair person who will try to fix it, rather than give the stock answer that it needs a new motherboard.
