T60p Odd Black Screen Post BIOS Issues

#1 Post by Kamika007z » Wed Jul 16, 2008 11:06 pm

Hello All,

Recently, I purchased an unused T60p from eBay from a reputable seller and all is well except for at rare moments, when I reboot the machine, it passes through POST, then the BIOS, but just before loading the OS (Vista, but I've seen this happen with XP as well), the screen is black and there is no life or response from the system. It just stays on and nothing else happens, forcing me to turn it off and turn it back on.

This has happened a few times... I'm worried the system may be faulty, however I'm not a 100% sure.

I'm running WIndows Vista 32-bit fresh build, with the latest Lenovo drivers & software.

Has anyone come accross this? My system is a 2007-8JU (FireGL V5250).

Thank you in advance!

Best,
Kamika007z

Also,

For the fist time last night, when playing Counter-Strike Source (and the machine had been on for the whole day too updating), I got a BSOD stating "NMI: Parity Check/ Memory Parity Error"

Has anyone else gotten this using the FireGL V5250 while gaming? I'm assuming the machine was already hot and this being a laptop and not a workstation (for the most part, in terms of cooling) that it caused the system to crash....

I'd appreciate any thoughts on both of these posts.

Thank you!
