please, need help here!

I have ThinkPad T60 2623-P2U laptop, which I bought last year (Nov-2007) from US ebayer. The machine come with 3 years international warranty, and I checked that several times before and after I bought the machine (machine type and S/N) and accroding to lenovo site the machine warranty was valid till 09-2010 I am sure 100% about that.
Today, my machine is not starting up, I gave lenovo support a call and surprisingly they told me your machine was sold without warranty and any claim will be rejected , then I checked lenovo warranty lookup online it shows:
" This machine was sold by the manufacturer without warranty. Claims for warranty service will be rejected by the manufacturer. "

what is going on?, I am sure 100% when I first bought the machine it was under 3 years international ibm warranty and I confirmed online many times.
what the heck is happening? why warranty status on my machine changed?!

Is it possible that the serial number on the sticker doesn't match the one that shows in the BIOS screen?

I have no idea why it was changed unless it was reported as stolen.

Did you ever print out the screen with the warranty info? I would argue with Lenovo that the T60 came with the 3yr warranty, talk to the service manager... warranty should be transferable between US and Canada no problem.

One thing i don't like is sellers would post serial numbers in the ad that could cause potential fraud imo. :|

Do you recall if the eBay listing included the serial number?

I'm asking this for a reason.

This sounds highly peculiar?! One option may be to post your question on the Lenovo forum - as chances are that Lenovo officials may see it there, and will step in to help you. If you are very fortunate, one of the Admin's on that site, Mark Hopkins (of Lenovo), might contact you (see e.g. the thread In-Service Warranty Repair Denied).

Please report back here your progress/the outcome - thanks.

If someone else had access to the serial, they could've ordered the replacement parts from depot, never send the supposedly defective ones back and get the machine blacklisted.

That why I've asked if the serial was present in the eBay listing.

Good luck.

Can I talk with someone at lenovo to find out why the machine if ever been blacklisted?

They won't tell you if it has been blacklisted or stolen, but they won't let you open a repair order on it. You might get some info if you take it to a local dealer.
