Anyone able to tell me if a T60 8741-8DM is Santa Rosa/GM965. Looking at purchasing a cheap second hand one, just wondering about CPU upgrade for it...

No T60 has got Santa Rosa/GM965 inside. If you need Santa Rosa/GM965, go for T61/T61p.

If you're looking for a performance bump, a faster hard drive and more memory are usually good places to start. A 2GHz T7300 isn't going to be markedly faster than a 2GHz T7200.
