Have T61 running XP Pro. Just purchased new, running NAV corporate. Laptop often takes FOREVER to come out of sleep mode (anywhere from 2-15 minutes). In addition, the length of time to recover is directly proportional to the length of time it has been in sleep mode - for example, if it has been asleep over night it takes 10-15 minutes to recover.

Also have found that about 33-50% of the time when it comes out of sleep mode the screen does not initialize, as reported here:

Only way I have found to get the screen back is to hold down power and reset the computer. This is completely unacceptable, as the loss of display often occurs when I have only left the computer for ~1/2 hour, and I lose work because of it.

Looking at my MS-config startup list, about half the things checked are Lenovo specific software (eg fingerprint controller, anti-shock software, etc). So there are a host of things that could be causing the instability, which I will be troubleshooting one by one. I'm also running firefox, and have heard that this can cause laptops to have poor recovery, but don't know whether this is true. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be most appreciated. Will post Hijack This log shortly. Note that I do not have a degree in comp sci or IT, and thus consider myself a newb in terms of troubleshooting software issues. Thanks for your understanding in advance.

I bought a thinkpad because everyone and their brother told me how fantastic they are, but so far the poor recovery has been nothing but problematic.
