On screen volume display

Hello everyone, I have a thinkpad R61 model 8934-A7U that I bought for school.

Everything seems to be working out quite well with it except one thing. A few weeks ago the onscreen display for the volume stopped working and I can't seem to reenable it. I think this was after I turned some services off to make it boot faster but I have looked at the services since (at the least the ones I disabled) and none seem to be related to either the keyboard or onscreen display.

How do I go about re-enabling this service ?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Look to your 'Hotkeys Manager'

The onscreen volume display, if it's handled the same as in my T61, is supported by the Hotkeys Management package. You probably killed its service in your efforts to speed bootup.

Regrettably, I don't know which service it is. You may need to reinstall the option.

Happy tweaking.

update - Fixed !

I reinstalled the hotkeys under C:\swtools\drivers\hotkey (after removing them first)

rebooted and it works again

Now if I could only figure out how to fix the craptacular wireless with the 3945ABG card
