T61 lost internet upon waking up from suspend

#1 Post by shutterfly » Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:47 am

I used to like to fold the pad when finishing using my T61 and flip open it when needed to use it again. Everything worked fine until recently I found I can no longer browse internet upon wake-up.
Wireless status indicator shows everything normal, and I even tried turn off and turn on wireless to let it recycle, but it still doesn't work. The only way to fix this is a system (Win XP) restart.
Folks here have any idea what's wrong?

thanks in advance,

It seems to be a common problem of both T60 and T61, in XP and Vista. There have been some suggestions on Wireless card driver, Thinkpad Access Connections, Power Management and even Apple's plugin. But no one has given a panacea.

My less painful and temporary solutions is:

1. Press Fn+F5 and switch off wireless before fold or hibernate the laptop.
2. Press Fn+F5 and switch on wireless after flip open it or wake it up from hibernation.

If unfortunately the wireless connection has already lost internet upon waking up from suspend, then you can:

1. Press Fn+F5 and switch off wireless.
2. Press Fn+F4 to turn it into sleep mode and then quickly bring it back by press Fn.
3. Press Fn+F5 and switch on wireless.

It always works!
