14.1 vs 15.4 power issues

I am planning to get a T61 Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz with 4 GB memory and intend to use it for some heavy duty number crunching. Now I was wondering that if I get a 14.1, would that make it suffer the effects of over-heating more on account of smaller size as compared to 15.4? please advise. I am planning to run Vista 64 bits on it.

The cooling in the T6X series is quite good. I've never seen a comparison between 14" and 15" model internal temps, but I bet it is negligible if any. Purchase based on need and weight/size if that is a factor for you.
Agreed...

I can't speak to the widescreen models, but I've been traveling with my T61 SXGA+ 14" for a couple of months now, and I can safely say it runs cooler than anything I've previously owned. I can even use it while wearing shorts.
Oh, yes, there's a warm spot in the upper left quadrant, about where the CPU is, but it has yet to become uncomfortable.
Happy travels.

I have R61 15.4".
You must know : If video on-board are Intel your nb are cooler.
I hate my nb with N-vidia.

not to initiate thread drift here, BUT..
is not the intel slower than the n-videa (or other) discrete graphics chip..?
i mean, its all tradeoff's.. cheaper/slower vs. more $$/faster and more video memory..??
i know, i know, i should look at the specs, but its early and i just happened across this thread..

kc7gr, which other laptops have you owned comparing the heat emissions to your T61.

well i dont have a lot of graphics requirements .... so i am seriously considering dropping nvidia off in favor of a cooler nb. Is there any one else who shares this view?
