I am an IBM fanatic. The T60 looks so much sleeker and more portable than the T61. I feel in love with it when I saw someone using one at the library yesterday. I have a few questions.

1 ) Is the memory limit REALLY 3GB?
2) What's the fastest processor that I could upgrade to? (Quad?)
3) Do the T61 and T60 have the same EXACT (verbatim) Hard Drive compatibilities (i.e. SATA 150 AND 300?)
4) Can you install a second hard drive in a T60 (main reason I'm getting one)
5) Petty - Is it possible to purchase a Lenovo THINKPAD sticker and get rid of the corny 1980s IBM Tri-Color logo?
6) Is my X61 (T7500 2.2) faster than any T60 available?

My main reason for getting this and selling one of my IBM X32s (2gHz) is the fact that its nearly as small as the X61, but has a larger screen and can house two hard drives.

I purchased my X61 for the purpose of running Pro-Tools Digital Audio software. The X61 runs it without a hitch, but I have to carry with me a second hard drive, which is causes for TOO MUCH desk clutter (i.e. Adapter, Firewire Cable, etc.)

The 3GB limit is an annoyance however. The T61 looks good, but is to [censored] ugly and bulky (petty I know, but so what).

1) Yes, chipset limitation.
2) Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz as far as I know.
3) No idea.
4) In the ultrabay (sacrifice the optical drive).
5) Yes.
6) Not right now. It can be upgraded further than the T60s can.

X61 12.1": 10.6" x 8.35" x ??-1.4", 3.66 lb
T60 14.1": 12.2" x 10.0" x 1.0-1.2", 5.2 lbs

The T60 is 38% larger is terms of footprint (surface area). Not nearly, but not necessarily a behemoth either. If you need that second drive, it may be worth it.

Thanks for replying. Any idea where I could purchase the new Thinkpad Logo stickers that appear on my X61 (I did a search on eBay and only came across the ugly IBM ones).

These T60s seem to be going dirtcheap on eBay with the T61 coming down in price and the T400 and T500 being released recently.

I've seen SOME T61s without the speakers on BOTH sides of the Keyboard. What are the differences between those and the ones with them on top. Is that the difference between the 14" and 15"?
