Hi,

unable to get to N speed on with this card, I have the proper driver, but when going to Device Manager it is recognized with the correct driver, in the properties of it, Adcanced, in Wireless Mode, I have only A/B/G... no choices with N...

Wondering if this is because it's on a Windows 2008 Server or ???

You will only get ~270mbps connections with a router/access point that has true 802.11n compliant dual band (2.4/5Ghz) radio capability, such as a Linksys WRT600n or WRT610N (or similar).

Well, right now I'm limited to 54Mbps... so that is a G...

Will try to change the authentication as stated in other links I have found, it's just wired the Lenovo drivers set the Wireless mode to G as maximum... and no possibility of more...

I believe this is an Intel thing, the card is behaving as it should, my guess is your card is seeing other access points as well as your access point. With the Intel card if it sees another g or b access point it will not go into the wide mode, I believe.

That is not good, because I know there several AP's visible from my house, if this was true, it would mean that if even one B or G AP was availble, the card won't go to N mode...

There must be a better explanation than that...

this might be obvious but... it isn't one of those cards that come up on lenovo's site as 4965agn (n disabled)?

You mean Lenovo would sale it as an N capable but disable the N... that would be really something...

you need to run it with AES encription and WPA or WPA2 network authorisation to achieve N mode.

I got 144mbps with same card to my D-link DIR-625

there's a patch for windows XP for WPA2, search it up if needed.
