Typing Beeps

today I first encountered Beeps while I'm typing
at 1st i thought this is a problem with some application I've installed on my T60, but then I realized the same is for my friends T42 and X60.
The symptom is when typing with the RIGHT shift pressed down and pressing any of these keys (z/x/c/v/m/,) - the lower keys on the keyboard except n and b, followed by one of the keys above them.
for example typing CD (while the shift is pressed)
if you are willing to try this, just press right shift+c and then d (while shift and c are pressed)
this is bugging me since I type fast enough many time so my computer beeps
anyone know what the hell is that?

Yes this is a known 'problem' in laptops. To disable it
Go to, Start Menu, Run
type devmgmt.msc
Click View Menu, Show hidden devices
Go to Non-Plug and Play Drivers
Double click Beep
Driver tab, Stop Service & Startup Type = Disabled
No more beeps. Enjoy

and why this is not happening with an extarnal KB...

I think the internal buffer on the keyboard controller just oversaturates. This is present in all Thinkpads I've owned, even on my own T61 which I now love
but no worries, just disable it.

It could be annoying also because pressed key after the beep isn't registered as used.
This was a real issue when I played Trackmania on my T60, now there's no time for it.

Hey I thought that I would add my two cents. I attempted to fix this issue by uninstalling the beep device. That is a bad idea. After the required restart the beep is back and now there is no device in the device manager that I can use to stop the beeping. I use my thinkpad to take notes in class and this beep can be kinda distracting to me and others in my classes. So what can I do to fix this?

You can try install device manually in Add Hardware. Assuming it will work, disable it

you could always mute your laptop... even though no one else seems to do this, i feel it's common courtesy, like putting your phone on vibrate in class.
honestly, there were few things more annoying than hearing all of the mac/windows boot sounds at the beginning of class. i could never hear the first five minutes of lecture!
