T61p wireless radio won't "power on"

#1 Post by jwooddm » Wed Aug 20, 2008 9:59 am

Hi,

Have a T61p with Vista Ultimate (work machine). For a month, "wireless radio" worked fine. Now when I try to power it on, it will not allow me to.

I'm not up to speed on all things technical, so in your directions, talk to me like I'm a dummy!

Thanks.
t61p for work.

Welcome to the forum,

by not powering up, do you mean you can't turn it on using the Fn+F5 key combination?
You've possibly turned it off by unknowingly moving the hardware switch under the front leftish side to off, (or is it right on a T61), on the system.

hi, thanks!

i tried fn+f5 and cannot get a response. this happened over a week ago (on vacation so just now getting back to it). i have to jump through hoops just to get it to pick up my wireless signal at home after bringing the laptop home from the office at night. i was in the middle of doing that process when something changed and it would not let me power on the wireless radio. can't quite remember details, but I was trying to go through the usual routine to get tapped in at home and then it happened.

have been doing some google searches for answers, but don't think i hit on anything specific to a t61p with vista ultimate. finally got a hit on this website and thought i'd post. appreciate your time and help! thanks!
