IBM ABG Card doesn't like Cisco?!

I am having the same problem on two different T61s with the IBM ABG wifi card (I don't know the exact model but can dig it up). Both laptops work fine at my house on a cheap D-Link Router and at one office on 3Com routers.

However, on campus at the medical center and at our office we have Cisco access points and both laptops are prone to dropping the connection throughout the day, typically after the computer is left alone for a little while. Normally Fn+F5 lets you reconnect but sometimes one has to reboot. Our last generation of T42s (5 of them) all have Intel B/G cards and have no problems.

I haven't dived into this too much beyond searching for similar posts on here (couldn't find any on this same issue) and making sure we're on the latest drivers (we are). I think my next step is to dive into device manager and make sure the power savings settings are disabled on the card, but beyond that I have no idea what to do!

Any thoughts, stories, advice? I'm not against changing out to Intel cards if need be but hate to spend the money if there's a fix out there!

try uninstalling access connections but leave the drivers on. we've had drop out issues with T61s and certain models of cisco/linksys APs and routers at work. from what ive heard firmware upgrades from cisco havent fixed the issue

I am having problems with a T61p, IBM 11 a/b/g wireless, running under Vista 64-bit. I have made some progress, but I have purchased an Intel card to see if it might be better. ... JDH
