Hello Gentleman,

first post here, hope I can get some info out of you if you don't mind.

My recovery partition is windows vista, I installed Windows XP last and installed SP3 direct then I start to install the drivers through the System Update, I'm having a problem with the sound now the Original driver is installed but the UAA is not installed properly.

I made some search on the internet and special in this forum all the result was for SP3.

My mistake was because I installed the service pack 3 before the installing the driver.

Check this link out:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 62855.html

and scroll down to Installation instructions, you will notice that the UAA High Definition Audio class driver for Windows XP SP1 and SP2.

Any help will be appreciated!

Cheers,

Are you getting a "new hardware found" message when you reboot?

Also, you probably know this, but it doesn't hurt to point out that the Thinkpad had two volume controls what work in tandem: The silver buttons above the keyboard, and the Windows volume control usually seen in the traybar. Both volume controls must be above zero in order to get sound.
