how do I make my multi dvd burner compatible to my T60

I just replace my DVD-rom CD-RW drive to DVD multi burner drive ( FRU 39T2677) but my computer does not recognize the drive as a multi burner, just as CD-RW and DVD rom. do I need a specific driver/ ISO file or a DVD burning software?

Have you tried checking in Device Manager to see if it shows up there properly? You could run the add/remove hardware wizard from control panel to see if it will notice the change and fix the incorrect device designation.
