Questions about upgrading T60 14.1" LCD panel

Hi,

I will be looking for a SXGA+ LCD for a 14" T60 in a near future, as an upgrade from XGA.

The question is, what should I be looking for?

Right now I know two kinds of panels I could use. First one is an LCD designed for a ThinkPad or taken out from one. What I don't know is what models have an LCD compatible with T60. R50 maybe? Which exactly?

Second way is to get a generic LCD with EDID (so not a T4x one) and program it to make the T60 accept it. I'm quite good at such stuff but I still have to do a bit of research on the topic. I don't want anyone to explain it to me (but feel free to do so if you want) because it would probably take too much time, but maybe you could advise me what panels will I be able to modify this way. Manufacturer/model numbers would be the best.

Some of you may say that I should sell my T60 and get one with SXGA+ already installed. I don't want to do it for several reasons. First, I like my T60 too much to part with it. It runs very well, is as good as new and I don't know how the new one would be. I also like the idea of doing it myself (tinkering with ThinkPads is fun!).

So, considering all above, what would be the best way to do it to keep the costs low.

Finally, if you have a panel to sell, PM me. I'm based in Germany.

TIA
