T60 second hand, wrong palmrest

I got a T60 under warranty bought second hand. It should come with a fingerprint reader as stated on lenovo.com after entering the model number. However, it doesn't have one. It also has a "Graphics by ATI" sticker although it has a GMA950.

Looks like someone switched the palmrest, right?

Is there any way I could get lenovo to replace it under warranty? I heared they send some replacement parts for the users to replace them themselves.

Or could you estimate how much would it cost to replace it. Would it be cheaper to let lenovo do it then to buy the right palmrest on ebay?

TIA

I had the palmrest in my R60 replaced.

After a screw got stripped in it and the piece of plastic broke off. Sent me a new one, didn't ask for the old one back.

I see.

Do they send it with the reader and touchpad or you have to take them from the old palmrest?

I haven't had a fingerprint reader equipped palmrest replaced, but it did include the touchpad...I imagine you'd get everything.

I've had several touchpads shipped to me for warranty replacements, and in every case, they wanted the old one back. If you don't ship it back, they charge you the list price (a lot).

I ended up contacting the guy I got the laptop from. He apologized for the mistake and sent me the right one, already got it installed. I've sent him the old one too.

Anyway, thanks for all your tips.
