Loss of sound drivers

T60, Win Xp sp2
On sleep or hibernation, on resume, the soundrivers card drivers have often disappeared from the device manager and there is no sound.

Any idea what could be causing this? It's not consistent - ie doesn't happen every time... but about 1:3 times. Not sure where to start looking. Any advice?

A few people here have reported the no sound after sleep problem with a T61(p). Maybe this helps: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=58608

Occasionally, when I restart my T60p, i would lose the sound drivers too. Skype and sound apps with report no sound system found.

Another restart then fixes it. This "problem" is not consistent.

For me it is always from a restart. Never from a cold boot, wake from sleep or wake from hibernation.

Basketb - thanks... I'm running latest lenovo drivers....

Zern - yes- that's exactly my problem.

All - is there a way of reloading the drivers etc without having to reboot?
