Is it feasible to replace a T61 Nvidia 140M GPU with a FX570M?
Or is it better to just buy a T61p and sell the T61?

Don't get the 14" display T61p, as it has a crippled NV570M chipset (half the memory, half the bandwidth - not much better than the NV140M).

Thanks for the heads-up
I'm looking for a T61p 15.4" WS 1680x1050 display with a T9300 processor.

Yes, it's the best one. Not any one can use WUXGA screen. What more, the WUXGA Samsung panel is pure BS !!!

Really? Every time I hear about Samsung displays, the comments about them are almost always negative. Are LG ones really that much better?? If so, in what way??

Yes, far better ! If you look in notebook forum and with this one, you will find a lot of files speaking about. For my own, I replace the samsung WUXGA panel with a LG/Philips WUXGA. Night and day !!!
LG/Philips is brighter, much more contraste, more vivid colors, best viewing angles, no snowy grainy white, far darker black, much more sharp and so on.
I rate Samsung panel 5/10... and LG/Philips 9.5/10. One of the best panel I have ever seen. The GL/Philips looks fine when I compare with my 2407WFP panel while the samsung was looking so washed out.
PS : Before I buy a spare LG/Philips panel, I spend 2 weeks reading about 15.4" WUXGA to know witch one is the better. No doubt : it's LG/Philips. I found very good information about panels in DIY beamer forums.

Hey Pascal...Thanks for the detailed response! That's pretty amazing, and I must agree, every time the topic comes up, LG, hands down, is the preferred choice by users, and by a lot at that like you said!
Sooo...quick question...Have you ever owned a Flexview panel? How would you compared IPS and LG, although LG probably made a bunch of the IPS screens.
So I guess what I'm asking is, a "regular" LG LCD vs. ANY IPS one...how much of a difference would you say there is??
Thanks again!
