320gb 7200rpm drive in T60p....PROBLEM

#1 Post by stephenaron » Tue Sep 23, 2008 12:44 pm

I bought a seagate 320gb 7200 rom drive for my t60p. All seemed to work but then the other day it wouldnt boot and the file system was coming up as RAW instead of NTFS. I formatted the drive and cloned my old drive again. All seems to work again, but i was getting a read error when running a diagnostic. Is there a problem using a new 320gb drive in the t60p? Anyone having any issues? Does it have to do with me cloning the drive? The new drive worked flawlessly for a few days. Weird. Any help?

Sounds like a faulty drive. It happens sometimes. Return/exchange it.

If it worked flawlessly, after cloning, for a few days, then I agree - you likely have a bad hard drive.
