Problem with fingerprint reader for power up on T60

I have recently reinstalled my T60 back to factory defaults due to operating system errors I just couldn't get right. Machine is behaving great now except I can no longer use my fingerprint for the power up. Within the finger print enrollment software I can only use the fingerprint for the windows logon. Previously I could click the tab above the selected finger in the enrolment software to enable that finer as a recongnised fingerprint for power up but that option appears to no longer be evident.
When looking through the help it says if the hardware supports it the option will be avaialable, yet it isn't and I know the hardware supports it as it previously worked.
Anyone got any ideas?
