I have a T61 with a 4:3 14.1 screen, Type 8897-01U.
Does anyone know if it's possible to add bluetooth?
Also, would do so void the warranty?
Regards,
Thinkpad enthusiast
T61 currently
previously T43 (1871-48U) and T40.

Easiest might be to just add a tiny dongle like this one, looks like it would stick out 1/4 inch from the USB port:

BTW, AFAIK to install an IBM module you would have to at least remove the LCD bezel, which was a real pain on my T23. It would definitely void your warranty.

The answer is yes, and there have been several threads asking about this. I haven't done it yet, but I plan to. If I do, I'll do some pix of the process.

you would also to change the cabling in the screen of your laptop, with one that supports bluetooth... unless you desperate want one in the screen i would just an usb version.

incorrect.
all T61 LCD cables have the BT connection built in. adding bluetooth is as simple as opening up the LCD bezel, plugging in the module, and replacing the bezel.
this can be confirmed in the T61/p hardware maintenance manual.
