I was wondering if this is normal for a T61. I have had two thinkpads prior to the T61 and never encountered this problem.
The lid when open moves back and forth about 1/2 inch (freeplay) when open. It has done this since new and I assummed that it was particular to the model but now I am not so sure?
It does not affect the LCD or any other features but I thought I would check.
Thanks in advance

Movement in Screen Lid
a hinge problem, the Thinkpad hinge should not have free play. I got that on my T60 (still got 1 year warranty) and want Lenovo to replace it, they say it is out of warranty replacement, and will charge 400 AUD for it (including 160 AUD quotation fee). I would definitely call Lenovo and get it replaced ASAP (that if you got the laptop recently), who knows what will happen down the road with not so solid hinge.
R61i 4 gig, X60 3 gig, T60 3 gig, X31 2 gig, T40 2 gig, Macbook Pro 17 inch HD and many other laptops.
