Advanced Mini-Dock (250410U) Will it Drive 2 Ext. Monitors

#1 Post by EarloftheWest » Mon Oct 20, 2008 12:17 pm

The advanced Mini-Dock has 1 vga and 1 dvi.
Will it run both of these ports at the same time so I can drive 2 external monitors or do I need the advanced dock?
Thanks.

Note that the integrated graphics models support all docking functions except DVI-D - at least according to the official specs. Though I seem to remember to have read that people reported success in getting the DVI to work with the integrated graphics models as well.

T61 models with integrated Intel chipset graphics support DVI in the Advanced Mini Dock with P/N 250410U.

I have a T61 with integrated graphics and advanced mini dock. DVI works fine (running 1680x1050). I found the VGA signal to be too noisy to use, though that probably depends on the quality of the analog monitor as well.

T60 with integrated graphics works too (verified).

Z61t apparently only works if is one of the later models (October 2006, with C2D), according to the Tabook. I never verified it.

No idea about the R series.
