t61p in sleep mode shuts down when docked

I am having problems with a t61p shutting down when it is placed on a docking station while in sleep mode. It happens about 75% of the time. The machine is running Vista Business 32-bit.

I tried swapping the batteries but had no luck with that fix. But when I swapped the HDD out with another one with a similar image and placed it on the dock it seemed to fix the problem.

Although it seems like the fix is to reimage, the user is not in a position to reimage right now. Just wondering if any of you have seen this problem or have any ideas of what kind of software or drivers could be causing the problem.

Thanks.

Thinkpad T61p always shuts down after a while when in sleep

My Thinkpad T61p always shuts down after a while when in sleep mode. I don't have a dock so I don't know if it would happen when docked too. Before I sent it for service to change the main board it worked flawlessly, I could leave it in sleep mode during the whole night or even a few.

Now it shuts down when in sleep mode after a while and it won't boot up again unless you take out the battery and plug in the cable cord. The battery level is not the problem, it is most of the times over 40% when this happens.

Lenovo Thinkpad T61p 8891-CTO, 1 Gb Intel Turbo Memory, Nvidia Quadro 570M 128 Mb, 2 Gb RAM, 100 Gb 7200 rpm Hdd, Windows Vista Ultimate, latest BIOS and drivers...
