I've been trying to order replacement Lenovo batteries for my T60s and T61s and having a devil of a job doing so. Some users want the 'low profile' batteries (the ones that don't stick out the back) while others want the 'high capacity' batteries that stick out but offer much longer run times.

I have examples of both on hand, and noted down various part #s, etc, and tried to use that info to find replacements ... but it has been incredibly difficult! Is there an easy way to know whether a 3, 4, 7, or 9 cell battery is going to be 'low profile' (form-fitting to the original case profile) or sticking out? Is there a good place to look for all this info?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but basically :

For 14" non wide screen T60/T61
6 cell battery is flush to the case or "low profile" in your term
9 cell sticks out

For 14" wide screen T60/T61
4 cell battery is not sticking out
6/7/9 cell sticks out

For 15" both regular/wide screen T60/T61
6 cell is not sticking out
9 cell sticks out

This looks to be EXACTLY what I'm looking for; can you tell me where you get this info from? Thanks!

This just based on the knowledge I gathered in the last copule of years as a owner for number of T and R 6 series tp and now a 14" T400 ( which basically is like a wide screen T6X ).

I'm sure if you can google the same info from number of reviews over the web too.
