upgrading R&R

#1 Post by ataraxia » Tue Nov 04, 2008 2:50 pm

Hello all,

Is there a way to upgrade the version of Vista located on my R&R partition? Specifically, make it current in terms of official Microsoft updates, add SP1 to it, etc?

I formatted my hard drive recently and it took at least 2 hours to get updates to install SP1, then install SP1, then install updates since SP1 was released.

If not, what solutions have others done to speed up this process?

Thanks!

-Mike

There is no way to do what you want to do unless Lenovo supplies upgraded Recovery CD's. You can call and ask. There will be a charge if they are available. My solution is to forget about R&R , purchase the full version of Vista with SP3, and use Acronis for backup/restore. I could go on all day about the advantages to running Vista like this...
