A while ago I tried installing the then-latest ATI driver and had blue-screen problems with it. As a result, I rolled back to version 8.383.1.1.3.070621a2-050878C-Lenovo.
This version seems to work OK, but there is occasional screen flickering, which I think was one of the problems fixed in the version that I had unsuccessfully tried to install.
I now see that the latest version is 8.442.3-080103a1-057754C-Lenovo, and it has not been updated since January 2008. I think I had asked about the advisibility of installing it, and someone suggested that I wait.
So I've waited quite a while and now would like to know: If you have a T60 widescreen (mine is code 8743) and are using 8.442.3-080103a1-057754C-Lenovo, have you had any problems? Are there any other suggestions? I'd like to get rid of that flickering.
What's the best version of the T60 ATI video driver?

Don't bother with the Lenovo drivers. Here's what you do:
1. Get the DriverCleaner.NET from Driver Heaven (You'll have to buy it, but trust me it's worth, I can't even count how many times it saved me from bad drivers).
2. Get the MobilityModder.NET from Driver Heaven (Free).
3. Get the latest drivers from ATI.
4. Uninstall all ATI software you have via the Control Panel.
5. Install DriverCleaner.NET, update it, and make sure to clean everything that has to do with ATI.
6. Restart
7. Try to install the ATI drivers, it will fail, that's fine, you just need to get them extracted.
8. Run the MobilityModder.NET and mod the drivers by locating the extraction directory, usually on root.
9. After modding is done, re-run the installer for the ATI drivers from the extraction directory.
10. Done
Hope this helps. Been using this tactic for 4 years now. Currently running Catalyst 8.10 on my T60p.
