BSOD after system serviced

#1 Post by ShadowRider » Thu Nov 20, 2008 1:42 pm

I recently had my t60 serviced in order to replace a very noisy fan. Very fast service, I like. However, now my system will BSOD on a consistent basis. These BSODs are easily repeatable as I have two scenarios which produce them, yet neither results with an indication in the BSOD info to tell me what is the root cause. (In the past, I have seen text which indicates a particular driver or somesuch)

Anyone know of a service I can submit these mini dumps to in order to further diagnose the issue?

Thanks.

Did you check the event log? Was it factory service?

yes to the factory service. Nothing in the event log.

I used the windbg and found that my last bit of crashes occur in ntkrpamp.exe, which I believe is a system file.

I tried reseating the memory and the issue still occurs. Since I had the system fan replaced (yes factory serviced) I wonder if something could now be causing an overheat issue. (The fan was replaced because of noise, not because of its ability, or lack there of cooling)

I ran memtest and it found no problems with the memory...

I need to remove all implications of service as the culpret in my problem above. Upon removing the new Kaspersky 2009 IS, I no longer get the crashes.

Thanks.
