Problem replacing WXGA with WXGA+ screen on T61

Hi All,

I have a T61 14" WXGA model (1280*800) with the intel embedded video and always wanted the 14" WXGA+ screen (1440*900), so I bought one on ebay (LG model) and came in excellent condition, new. I replaced the old screen with the new and when i turn the computer on, the entire screen come on and stays white.
Any one have any idea why? Do i have to go in and mess with the EDID again? I tought this would not be an issue anymore on the newer Lenovo's.

Have you tried the old screen back in it ? does that still work fine.
It could be that the screen you have is wired differently at the pin outs maybe ?

Sorry about this everyone; went back and noted that i had not plugged in the lcd connector properly into the lcd so ther was no info going into it but it was lighting up because inverter was connected. Anyhow, everything working well now in WXGA+ glory, it's an LG screen and it's nice but a little washed out colorwise. Much better than WXGA stock screen. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time...

Try reducing your gamma setting, this may improve the colors.

I got an LG LP141WP1 (TL) (B8), which was advertised as being glossy but thankfully was matte. It looks great and am happy with the mod but broke a few of the tiny plastic clips on the LCD front bezel and have to now find a new bezel. None on ebay as of now... still can't really tell except if you try to pull the side

Overall, very happy!

You should be able to order any FRU/CRU from Lenovo. It's possible in France and Belgium, so it must also be possible in US. Such a bezel cost about 30 € (only aviable with cover lid).

BTW, congratulation for your panel switch. I already made it for my T61p (Samsung to LG).
