T60P with WinXP 64-bit installation - NEED HELP WITH DRIVERS

Hello forum
I am helping my friend to install Windows XP 64-BIT edition on his T60P laptop. The installation is OK, but missing all needed drivers. I went to Lenovo site, but can only get Intel Ethernet PRO1000 working, others are not compatible.
Can someone help me to locate the right drivers for T60P with XP-64bit?

Thank you very much in advance.

You'll need a lot of patience, quite some research and a bunch of modded drivers, since Lenovo doesn't support the 64-bit version of XP.

Good luck.

I don't think Lenovo supports XP 64bit, so you'll have to get drivers elsewhere. See this thread for a similar experience

Edit: George beat me to it ...

Most of the Vista x64 drivers would work (but not all...) ;) Talking from own experience with a ThinkPad model similar to yours...

See my signature. I've got everything work with Vista 64-bit on my T60.

I downloaded all drivers and Thinkvantage applicatioins I need from Lenovo's official website. Some of them are said to be 32-bit version, but they do work with Vista 64-bit.

I've never tried 64-bit XP on my T60, so my experiences may not help.

Good point! And I´ll tell you why :)
1. Some of the XP drivers provided on Lenovo website for T60p may also work with XP x64, but you will have to download and try out each of them. After unpacking and running the installer, it will tell you if the driver is not compatible with your system.
2. There are driver packages which contain both x86 and x64 driver and install according to your system. I believe these could actually work under XP x64.

Sorry, but I don´t remember which ones worked for me :( You will have to try out each one of them for Vista x64 from lenovo website. Please note that those drivers in Lenovo website which are not specified for x64 or x86 are presumed to work for both architectures.

However, I can definitely tell you that the onscreen feature didn´t work under XP x64. I´m not aware of any workaround for this. Also, Access Connections didn´t work for me either. And if I remember correctly, the Active Protection didn´t work either. (I tried Vista x64 as well as the XP x86 drivers from Lenovo). But as already said, that war long time ago, and hence it´s possible that some of the new Lenovo drivers / programs "are not anymore compatible" with XP x64 (they have never been designed to be :) ) or that some of them have become compatible (but I doubt it because Lenovo has most probably worked on the compatibility of their software with Vista and hence gone even further from compatibility with XP x64, who knows...)

Hope this helps a bit
