3M Privacy Filter or Other Screen Protectors/Filters

#1 Post by leesiulung » Sat Jan 10, 2009 8:05 pm

I'm thinking of getting a privacy filter to protect my screen from fingerprints, keyboard marks and for the added benefit of having some privacy on the plane. Have anyone used the 3M Privacy Filter?

I found a user response at the link below, that was not happy. However, I see these used a lot and wonder if there are more people with this experience or just this particular user?

Anyone have any feedback? Any other options? I hate when people stick their finger on my screen to point out something. Fingerprints are a pain to get off the screen. This is for a brand new X61s as well as an older T60.

I would get one for privacy, NOT for screen protection.

They make the screen look a bit duller (already dim thinkpad screens) but they definitely delete viewing angles and for privacy I would definitely get one. I'd feel much more comfortable typing on a plane with one.

I dont know details about mounting it, I guess you just kinda have to figure out what works.
