How can I tell if one of the 15" 4:3 screens is a Flexview
Can you tell from the model number or through some other means?

All depends whether you're looking at an installed LCD, or not. If the machine is running an OEM version of Windows, you'll be able to see it in the Display properties. If you're looking at a LCD outside of machine, check the FRU number.
Thinkpads equipped with 15" 4:3 IPS FlexView LCDs:
A30, A31, A30p, A31p. Not ALL of A30/31 SXGA+ are FlexView, all UXGA on A30p/A31p are.
T42, T43 15" SXGA+
T42p, T43p UXGA
R50, R51 SXGA+ (but not R52)
R50p UXGA and QXGA
T60/p in 15" SXGA+ and UXGA.
Hope this helps.

Re: How can I tell if one of the 15" 4:3 screens is a Flexview
See the thread 2007-FVG: Is this a Flexview model ?. All 15.0" 4:3 SXGA+ and all all 15.0" 4:3 UXGA T60's and T60p's were FlexView/IPS. Read the sticky LCDs on T60/T60p - types, availability and other discussions at the top of this forum. If you have the model (e.g. 2007) and the type (e.g. QPG) of a T60 (or some other ThinkPad), and its serial number, then you can make a "Parts Lookup" for this T60 - via the Warranty Lookup page and then find the part through the Hardware Maintenance Manual of the Parts Index - links to these in the thread Manufacturer of 42T0324? (15" T60 SXGA+ FlexView LCD). Google is also always useful...
