T60 with 4 steady beeps, then turns off

Hello,

I have a T60 Fru: 1953-CTO.

It beeps 4 steady beats, then repeats that 4 times. Then goes quite.

The power lights are still on and fan is spinning, just no display or bios.

I have:

Reset cpu, all connections and mini-pci cards/ram/cdrom, etc...

Pulled Bios battery for 10 minutes. But no change of state.

Can i replace the security chip??? I have a feeling its' like the old t20 crc error i use too see.

Can you re-program the bios i wonder (hexreader), or perhaps send the board to someplace ( i know a shop that does vga work for t's cheap).

Anyway, this is a new one for me, wondering if anyone has any luck with this issue.

Thanks...for your time.

According to the HMM
Four cycles of four short beeps and a blank screen. -> System board (security chip)
But you probably knew this as you've asked about replacing the security chip. I am not aware of a simple fix for this. Any warranty left on the machine?

It's out of warranty.

Yes, it's a default answer, much like the one they use to give for the crc175 error code

"bad board"...

But you could eprom those chips to fix, i was hoping someone had some experience with fixing the security chip issue. I don't see a lot floating around on the net, and i hate, hehee, not fixing something.
