Hi all

Cheers

I bought mine some two months ago on eBay (US). I was lurking there for a week or so and was able to get a nice deal as opposite to the buy-it-now ones which are quite expensive. It was worth it even after paying the shipment and customs. If you're not in a rush, you may want to try that.

How much did you pay, yak, if it's not a secret of course?

The auction ended up at USD 76.

Does seem like the only place im going to get one is from the US. I will just have to keep my eyes open and wait for one to pop up. Ive seen some but they are a few hundred dollars and that cost is not really viable.

Lenovo support say i can use either:
42T0373 (Original panel in the laptop)
or
42T0438
or
42X4687

Any ideas where to get other models?

Cheers

You need the last 2 digits as well for that screen, it comes in various versions for compaq, dell, and ibm ...

Yes L02 denotes IBM, this is definitely a 14.1" SXGA+ screen but is it compatible?

Im desperate for a screen but been quoted prices from £200 to £300 which is just not viable really.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Keep looking up on eBay until a good deal comes up.

I have T61 with this panel. It is made by Samsung and some claim that this is the worst one can get. Others, on the other hand, say that it is not that bad. Personally I think that they all are bad and as far as I can gather from the pics (http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15777) there is no big difference between them.
As for compatibility I thinkt that the same panels were used on 14.1" standard T60 / R60 / T61. So, yes, they are compatible.

The prices you mentioned are really terrible and it seems that it is more reasonable to by a new or used T60 or T61 (widescreen) than to pay such a crazy money for a legacy panel.
Have a good luck!

I'm in the same boat. Is there a Glossy modern screen that will fit?
