amber battery light flashing

Hi,

the battery system of my T60 developed some weird anomaly, and perhaps one of you could share some tips on whether there is any remedy other than getting a new battery (unfortunately I am currently on the road with no access to spares).
The amber battery light just keeps flashing even though the battery health (according to the Battery Information tool) is good and 89% charged, however charging is not happening and there is no indication of current being passed. Disconnecting the power supply leads to immediate shutdown of the PC. Running the battery re conditioner hasn't improved things.

Any tips on recovering the battery? Or could this be some more serious problem with the PC?

Thanks,
Wlad.

I've had the same problem with my T41 - the fuse on the mainboard was blown. I've noticed a couple of people had it on T4x series (that thing is very easy to blow out), but I've never seen anyone have it on T6x series. Anyway, sounds like it - if you're in warranty, I'd send it to IBM, if not - there's a relatively easy fix, but it involves you doing some soldering on the board.
Question - Did you happen to run your laptop on batteries while connecting it to some AC device (say a printer or tv)? If so, you've blown a fuse somewhere on the board...
