How do I know if my screen is grainy?

How do I know if my laptop screen is bright? It looks pretty bright to me. Also I find it to be grainy, how do I know if it's too grainy to the point it's considered defective. It's grainy and it's noticable, but text is readable, images are sharp and it is bright (I think).

I think that the biggest thing is if you are happy with it, then leave it. if you are not happy with it, then get it changed (not sure if it is under warranty).

Based on your description everything is normal. If something would be wrong you would be able to tell for sure.
